Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen was a French illustrator and painter at the turn of the 20th century. His style is attributed to the French art nouveau movement, which is also reflected in his most famous work, the poster ‘Le Chat Noir’. As an opponent of social injustice, Steinlen found his inspiration in the everyday lives of normal people. His art is full of humour and critical realism. Why not introduce his works to your home as for example posters or as prints on wood?
